Sometimes we all seem to hit a plateau in our workouts and we start thinking "again?" when it is time for us to go workout.
Here are some quick thoughts I had on how you can beat that feeling:
1) Take a week off- This is a great plan especially if you have been working out for 8+ weeks without a week off. It will let you fill your engine back up and you should be ready to go full speed ahead after the week off. The trick is keeping a week from turning into a month!
2) Change things up- Go through a different type of workout. If you like weights a lot, change it up for a week or so by doing some high intensity cardio sessions and don't go to the gym for a week.
3) Find something to look forward to- Whether it is a high school reunion or a night out with your S.O., take it as a challenge to look great before that event. The motivation you get from this "timeline" will be unbeatable.
4) Join a competition- Whethere it is a community run basketball league or a 5K, sign up for it! When you have a competition to push you towards your goals, there is no limit to what you will do.
If you are in a rut, find a way to get out and do it now. Don't wait, because a day will turn into a week, a week into a month and before you know it, working out will be a chore, not something that is fun and relieves stress.
Make it a great day San Antonio!
